Voter registration forms have been dropping through letterboxes across the borough this month.
Hammersmith & Fulham (H&F) Council will be sending forms to local homes over the coming weeks and residents are being urged to return the forms as soon as possible so that they can make their voices heard in the London Mayoral and Assembly elections to be held in May 2012.
Geoff Alltimes, H&F Council Electoral Registration Officer, said:
‘Registering to vote is very simple. All you have to do is update the annual voter registration form with the details of everyone in your household who is eligible to vote and return it to us as soon as
possible. If your details haven’t changed you can also reply by text, phone or internet.
“There was a lot of interest in this year’s referendum on the UK voting system and we were pleased with the increase in registration shortly before polling day. However, some people may not realise that they have to register every year.
“It is important that you complete and return the registration form so you are able to take part in the upcoming elections”
On your annual voter registration form you can opt to have your details excluded from the edited register. This will mean your details cannot be bought by individuals and commercial organisations.
If you haven't received your form please contact Electoral Services on 020 8753 4466 or via the website www.lbhf.gov.uk/electoralservices.
