Hammersmith Library is the latest attraction in the borough to be named by mothers as one of the best free place to go in London.
The library, on Shepherds Bush Road, joins Bishops Park and Ravenscourt Park who have also recently won coveted Netmums awards.
There are plenty of facilities and events at the library that make the library a worthy winner of the award. The venue hosts under-fives' story and rhyme time sessions which are hugely popular with mothers and their children. Sessions take place on Wednesdays from 10.15am to 10.45am and from 11am to 11.30am and also on Thursdays from 10.30am to 11.30am.

Cllr Greg Smith, cabinet member for residents’ services, said:
“I am delighted that mothers are so impressed with Hammersmith Library and I know how popular many of the children’s events are at that branch. This council recognises how important libraries are in a civil society and that is why, unlike many local authorities around the country who are closing their libraries, we are currently carrying out improvements at our branches.”
£80,000 is being spent at Fulham Library on changing the locations of the children’s and teenage areas so that services to these two groups of library customers can be developed and enhanced. The council is also buying new books and other stock, introducing comfortable seating areas for reading or study, installing self-service machines to reduce queues and customer waiting time.
In addition, the Council recently signed a groundbreaking deal that will see it combine its library services with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council. The agreement will save taxpayers more than £1million a year and ensure all of their 21 public libraries remain safe from closure.
