Yesterday saw over a hundred young campaigners for Boris Johnson in Hammersmith. As well as setting up stall in Lyric Square there were teams that fanned out across the Hammersmith Broadway Ward in canvassing teams making contact with over a thousand voters.
Bill Bailey (picture) was one of Ken Livingstone's celebrity backers last time. But Bill welcomed the abolition of the C-Charge Extensiuon. Will he switch to Boris next time.
Thanks to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
It was a lovely day out! Myself and the redoubtable and famous Sally canvassed together with two nice ladies from Maidenhead Association. We had a good response from a somewhat mixed area marred only by unspeakable ruudeness by an old man who used very foul language in front of the ladies. No excuse for that whatever one's politics! That apart a great day and well worth the journey from Reading. Afterwards many of us enjoyed a Chinese meal in Soho joined by some very nice Swedish visitors. I look forward to helping Back Boris in Hammersmith again!
